AboutAmerican Legion Post 277 is a non-partisan and not-for-profit organization of U.S. war veterans, founded in 1919. We serve Veterans and their families, promote a strong national defense, and build unity and support in our communities.
We have a monthly meeting of members the 3rd Monday of each month at 6:00 PM at the Necedah Veteran's Hall. (Except Jan., Feb. and Mar.) We always welcome more active members. If you would like to participate or have any questions please contact Ed Hanson at 605-631-9516. |

HistoryThe American Legion Post 277 is named after Necedah residents Avery Michael Coughlin, and Leo Sanford who both were Killed In Action during WWI.
The American Legion Post Charter Membership Roll was established on May 17, 1921 with 14 Members. |

Honor Guard Military Funerals
We perform honor guard military funerals for any veterans in the Necedah Area as a thank you for their service. If this is something you would like, Ed Hanson at 605-631-9516.
Honor Guard performs at: - Military funerals: 15 – 25 times/year - Parades: 3 – 4 times/year - High School sporting events: 6 – 10 times/ year |
Badger Boys State and Badger Girls State
Badger Boys and Girls State educate young leaders on how to become more impactful community members of Wisconsin. They learn how our government system works by creating their own city, county, and state level governments

Wisconsin Camp American Legion
Camp American Legion is a safe and comfortable place for WI Veterans, Military and their families to come together. Their mission is to help heal those who have served and those who continue to serve and their families, through Wisconsin's north woods experience.

In addition to these programs, American Legion Post 277 also supports military and non-military families in distress in the Necedah area.
